4-H Exploration Days: Expanded
4-H Exploration Days: Expanded is June 22-24th. This MSU Pre-College Program is open to any youth age 12 to 19 years old. With more than 60 fun and engaging sessions planned for youth to choose from there is something for everyone to enjoy. In addition, youth will hear from keynote speakers Justin and Alexis Black, authors of Redefining Normal. Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in free time sessions that include things like Virtual Clue, trivia, 10 Tips for Creating Your Own Podcast, and more! Cost of this program is $20.00 or $10 if you are a Lake County 4-H member and includes a swag bag that will be mailed to youth. Register quickly to get the sessions you want!

Racial Justice
In this intro conversation, Seth Bernard will cover some of the basics of understanding racial justice, including historical context, working definitions, a framework called the Five Faces of Oppression (known as 1) Exploitation, 2) Marginalization, 3) Powerlessness, 4) Cultural Imperialism, and 5) Violence), and tools for accountable allyship. Holly T. Bird will make a guest appearance to share stories, poems and calls to action from an Indigenous perspective.

MiLibraryQuest: Summer Edition 2021
MiLibraryQuest is a digital scavenger hunt put on by libraries across Michigan for teens across the state. Teens, Grades 6-12, will have an opportunity to learn about unique animals and Michigan libraries in conjunction with this summer's theme for the Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales! Teens will find descriptions of a variety of animals spread across the websites of about 170 participating libraries. Teens could also win a prize from their library!

Zoom through the Solar System
Our presenter Ethan will use Zoom and planetarium software to penetrate the night sky over Detroit. Then they will fly us to each planet in the solar system, plus Pluto. (You do know that Pluto is now classed as a "dwarf planet", don't you?) You can also learn about what each planet is like.
